The Charming One with Edges and Corners
Here he stands before me, the high-ranking naval officer that Armaf proudly names after.
A blue shining bottle with a triangular base, tapering downwards, gently rounded corners, a delight to hold. A cap that clicks on but also somehow contains a magnet. A spray head that doesn’t skimp on the application but also doesn’t unintentionally over-spray.
Check - I like it.
Freshly sprayed, I perceive an ozonic-aquatic freshness that is hardly explained by the fragrance pyramid, lightly underlined by the warm-sweet cardamom.
After half an hour, the fresh notes have disappeared, and the warm-soft ingredients take over. Very subtle, non-sacred incense, amber, tonka, and vanilla promise (and deliver) a feel-good experience. A sharper pepper can be detected directly on the skin - in the sillage, soft notes dominate, creating a calming aura around me.
Speaking of sillage: Not beast mode, but noticeably effective over a longer period. With 5 sprays, I can smell my own scent for 5-6 hours. Close to the skin, about 8-9 hours, which I consider very good.
I would love to draw a comparison to other fragrances, but - I don’t own any scent that bears noticeable similarities to the Admiral.
On the first test, I found the Admiral nice. On the second, good. By now, I like it very much. A feel-good fragrance with interesting twists. I might have to revise my rating upwards one day.
Addendum: It creates a present, incredibly pleasant aura that doesn’t become boring even after prolonged wear. Since it is almost always suitable for me, the Admiral has meanwhile become my most worn fragrance. +0.5 points.
