A powdery, elegant take on chestnut
Sometimes it's just nice to smell a fragrance that smells exactly like how you imagined it. Casse-Noisette is that for me. A perfect mix of sweet, nutty and floral.

The marron glacé note is lovely, as if the chestnuts were still in the process of getting glazed. There is something sparkling, freshly caramelizing about the opening. If you expect roasted chestnuts like in Zadig & Voltaire This is Her, no, these are not the same.

The sweetness calms down after a while, so this is not a monotone gourmand. Don't get me wrong, it is a sweet scent through and through, but the florals and woods also make their appearance and balance it out. They add a beautiful background that is partly creamy and partly powdery.
I don't think the jasmine is very realistic, it gives more of a general white floral sweetness than smelling like a real jasmine shrub. Funnily the neroli is at its most noticeable some hours in, even though it's usually more of a topnote. The cedar base is very soft and warm, I think I would have guessed sandalwood instead of cedar if I hadn't seen the notes.

This is quite versatile and elegant, especially for a gourmand. I don't really see it in summer, it just wouldn't fit the mood, but for autumn, winter and any cooler spring day, it's super wearable day and night. The clean, creamy aspects of the white flowers really elevate the sweet maron glacé. A gorgeous scent.

Guys, the Drydown!
Casse-Noisette is the fourth fragrance from the house of Les Néréides that I have the pleasure of getting to know, and I am once again very excited about this scent.
Since I am currently in a nut phase, I had to order the fragrance blindly as part of a sharing (thank you to everyone who participated and helped me get a bottle).

In two weeks, my husband and I will be heading to Prague for a child-free weekend, and I wanted a fragrance for this lovely occasion during the Christmas season that would remind me of this weekend again and again....

About the bottle and packaging:
These beautiful bottles are simply a 10/10. I love the elegant look with the lovely gold print of the flowers. It looks fantastic in the collection. The outer packaging is simple. The bottle rests in a plain but very sturdy printed cardboard box. Absolutely sufficient and solid for the price range.

Now, onto the fragrance:
I have no idea what glazed chestnuts smell like, but I was hoping for a sweet-nutty note. I was concerned about the jasmine and neroli in the top notes, as I feared they might be too strong and cloyingly floral.
I recently added a bottle of Le Vie di Milano - Passeggiata in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II to my collection, precisely because of the aforementioned nut phase. Here, the tuberose is very noticeable, but beautifully integrated... I wanted to find something less floral and loud.
The fragrance starts off subtly floral; I perceive a delicate jasmine. I don't smell neroli, perhaps just as a supportive note at most. Immediately, a delicious nuttiness comes in with bitter sprinkles and a pleasant sweetness that is never sticky or overwhelming.

This dominant nuttiness only lasts a few minutes; the delicate jasmine as a base is never completely gone but never takes the lead either.
After the nutty note recedes a bit, a golden, elegant (amber?) sweetness becomes noticeable. Rich and harmonious. Not cloyingly sweet, not too subdued. Just right, like golden velvet.
I can't really pick out the cedar, but I think it forms a woody boundary, adding a bit of edge so that the sweetness doesn't overflow.

The drydown then remains like this. Sweet, warm, golden, elegant, harmonious, sensual, beautifully wonderful.

Like all the fragrances from this house that I have experienced so far (Pas de Velours, Baie de Cassis, Rue Paradis), this one is also an extremely harmonious, very expensive-smelling, wonderfully elegant composition that is present but never too much. Never overwhelming and "full on the 12," which I truly appreciate and enjoy.

I would describe the fragrance as a gourmand scent with floral sprinkles and a moderate warm sweetness, which I believe fits best in the autumn/winter. Other gourmands that are currently very popular (e.g., Bianco Latte, "Saint Honoré | Nicolaï / Parfums de Nicolaï", "Vanilla Haze | Fugazzi") are much sweeter, more overwhelming, less elegant, and "perfumy," which can be too much for me. Just for your reference. Those who love this type of gourmand will probably find Casse-Noisette a bit bland or flat or too quiet.

Since the fragrance has such a pleasant sillage, it can be worn for all occasions. I am also very satisfied with its longevity. On my skin, it lasts 6-8 hours, and on clothing, it still smells delicious, sensual, and enticing the next day.

For our Prague weekend, it’s simply a perfect fragrance.... I am already looking forward to wearing it during Christmas walks through this beautiful city, at the Christmas market, when we go out to eat, and during moments together in the apartment...

Absolute recommendation from me. I love it!

Beloved Nutcracker (not just for Christmas)
Casse-Noisette was an absolute serendipity. I participated in a sharing of another fragrance, and the perfumer also offered a sharing for this one. Because the listed chestnut note piqued my curiosity (and the shipping costs should be worth it), I signed up for this scent as well, but I had no high expectations.
And then, during the first test: BAM, love! I hadn't felt that in a very, very long time, but I was immediately smitten. For me, the neroli comes out more than the jasmine, but not in a sharp, 4711 way; rather, it’s quite clean and very delicate and fine. I also immediately perceive the chestnut; it actually reminds me of roasted chestnuts, but since any Christmas spices are absent, I have no associations with Christmas markets.
Instead, here and there, brief nutty sparks appear, making the fragrance interesting and setting it apart from other clean scents. The scent impression is consistently powdery, but very fluffy, not at all like dusty theater or baby powder. More like a delicate layer of powdered sugar enveloping fine pastries, just less sweet.
Although sweetness does play a role, it is very restrained and by no means sticky.
I feel that the cedar is responsible for keeping the sweetness in check and preventing the fragrance from drifting into insignificance. Thank goodness, though, without the incredibly piercing synthetic wood note that I perceive in so many current fragrances, which, while ensuring long-lasting wear, is simply unbearably unpleasant in my nose and has turned me off many a scent.
Casse-Noisette is not incredibly innovative, however, as my father remarked when I wore the fragrance in his presence, I smelled like an acquaintance. Casse-Noisette had just been released, so I doubt he actually knew this scent from his surroundings. But if the sillage is clean-sweet-powdery, there are indeed more fragrances that strike a similar chord.
However, I have realized over the past year that it is precisely these uncomplicated everyday scents that I particularly value in my collection. Especially in the cold period after Christmas, I crave comforting scents that don’t demand too much from my nose, and this lovely nutcracker hits my sweet spot perfectly.
My sample was then correspondingly empty quickly; I was too slow three times in the souk for a leftover bottle, and then I finally treated myself to a bottle for my birthday this month. A big plus for me: Unlike many niche fragrances, there are also 30ml options instead of just the large 100ml bottle, which is always too much for me. The price-to-value ratio is of course much worse, but the fragrance is generally very affordable, so I can overlook that.
When the bottle arrived, I immediately sprayed it, and wow, it felt like coming home. That may sound dramatic, but I actually felt grounded, embraced, and somehow...peaceful(?) and not many fragrances achieve that.
Casse-Noisette completely contradicts the zeitgeist with its quiet calmness; there is no monster sillage, and it is not a longevity beast either, but it is a faithful companion on days when I don’t want to stand out but just want to smell well-groomed. Therefore, I am very happy about this new addition and am considering testing more fragrances from the brand, which was completely unknown to me until now. But if they also embody such wonderfully French-chic understatement, then I see a lot of potential for further fragrance loves.

Another 10 in my closet... heavenly good
I don't know if you feel the same way. The phenomenon of "new scents." When one flutters into the house, it somehow always seems to be the best. Okay, sometimes you miss the mark and it's not that great after all. THANKFULLY, the former is true and I am in love.
Just like I was with Aura by Loewe and also with Molecule01. However, the three have nothing in common - yet all three gave me that feeling of infatuation.

As for "Casse-Noisette | Les Néréides," I can only say: scents from France... folks, (the shipping didn't take long at all), they just know how to do it. This is my first scent from them, and as far as I understand, they actually make jewelry? That may be true, but they can also create fragrances. It's so nutty, creamy, sweet but not cloying - although, you do have to like sweet scents to appreciate this one. I also find it's not Unisex - I believe it will appeal to the feminine sweet-tooths - but I could be wrong. Someone mentioned it smells a bit like skin cream or body lotion - yes, I can confirm that. A hint of almond milk, sweetened with even more nutty accords, yet so light that it can also be worn in spring. Absolute class!!!

As for longevity and sillage, I can only estimate roughly, as it hasn't been tested thoroughly yet... but I can smell the test strip from 3 meters away, and through cedar and amber, I suspect it lasts longer. With gourmands, a slightly longer longevity is usually to be expected.

Gentle, Powdery, and Graceful
Today, I received another wonderful little ray of light in the cold winter. Curious about the name Noistette, I wanted to test "Casse-Noisette | Les Néréides." Glazed chestnut? I only knew chestnut from "This Is Her! | Zadig & Voltaire." But here, we have no synthetics. The scent is so gentle, a veil of jasmine, something powdery, I don't even perceive neroli. After a few minutes, it beautifully transforms into an amber/ sandalwood interplay. For anyone looking for a gentle scent, I'm not talking about a skin scent, the sillage really develops strongly, slightly nutty, floral, indeed something like chestnut emerges, they should definitely test this line. A delicate gourmand in the direction of Paris - Venise but with significantly better H/S. 5 out of 5 chestnuts for Cinderella.

Simply the most harmonious relationship between white flowers and nutty notes. The drydown is heavenly! Beautiful from start to finish.

I expected much more nuttiness. Jasmine clearly takes the lead here. Feminine, graceful, harmonious, floral, but not for me.

Very gentle, initially nutty and then increasingly soft-soapy. With chestnut underneath, it's very nice, not abrasive, always works, and feels super well-groomed.

What an irritating scent progression! First, nut nougat cream, then more and more fresh laundry / authentic jasmine bush. It's creative.

Soft, warm, elegant sweet floral gourmand that also suits spring. Light, creamy nut note becomes delicately floral.
