True "Perfume" Scent

As a gourmand girly this is not for me. It opens with a strong aldehyde scent that tamps down to a peppery powder with a vague hint of fruity sweetness. I don't get strawberries, more like vaguely fruity. There's also a hint of florals in between first spray and dry-down. Reminds me of your stereotypical early-aughts department store counter scent, maybe a younger Chanel fragrance. It's a pretty strong scent for a body mist. If someone was new on earth this would be a good scent to show them what "perfume" smells like (vs. like, what fragrances are like).

this smells like the embodiment of the girl next door trope. its not too sweet, its a perfect blend of rose, strawberry and soft woody notes in the background. one of if not my favorite rose perfume on the market.
the longevity is about 3 hours, but considering its a body spray thats really good.
overall, love love this. perfect for everyday wear in any type of weather (although i haven't tested it in the hottest times of summer, so im not sure about that)

Powdery, musky, peppery rose (with a hint of strawberry)

This is powder, musk, peppery rose, and just a hint of strawberry.

The powdery musk in this takes front row, but rose comes close behind. I can see why some say this smells like an "old lady" - but I think it's mature, polished, and lovely.

I wish this had just a bit more strawberry though (it's too soft, you almost wouldn't know it's there if you didn't know the notes); I think it would help to round out the musky/peppery notes.

P.S. This is GORGEOUS in the candle (very powdery, floral, and clean/fresh - similar family to Japanese Cherry Blossom), and horrible in the wallflower (too much pepper).

Dark Rose, Woods, and Divine Incense

I have not been overly impressed with most of B&BW's releases the last few years. There have been a few I really liked, e.g. Fresh Gardenia, One in a Million, and Rose were nice. I am happy to say I can now add another one to the list of new likes: You're the One. I have the shower gel, the body spray, and the body creme, and I love all three of them.

You're the One opens with a smidge of fresh, slightly tart, slightly sweet, basically perfect strawberry. A dark but fresh rose quickly joins in. The birch in the base is fairly demure but undeniably there supporting the rose beautifully, and I swear I can detect a divine incense. The fragrance is mainly about the dark rose, woods, and incense. I really like this one a lot. It feels pretty sophisticated despite the strawberry note which could have derailed this fragrance. I love using the shower gel---it makes the whole bath smell wonderful. I apply both the body spray and the body creme after I bathe, and the gorgeous scent lingers through to the next morning. This is nice all year round. I am wearing it now in quite cold weather, and I love it every bit as much as I did during the Summer.

If you like dark rose, woods, and incense, I think you will like this one a lot. Longevity is average, but the body cream gives the longevity a good boost. Another long awaited winner from B&BW. Highly recommend this one.
