3 different voluptuous florals, same style
These two perfumes share a similar style.

Voulez-vous coucher avec Moi (2015)

Danger Parfum (2012)

CREAMY, RICH WHITE FLORALS WITH VANILLA, SANDALWOOD AND YLANG-YLANG

That previous combination is truly amazing.

Of the two, VVCAM is the stronger, fuller and somehow fatally seductive, as it has Tuberose, Orange Blossom, Neroli and Gardenia in it. Danger is noticeably more refined, innocent, powdery and softer with Jasmine and Gardenia. In Dander, there is that subtle, elegant, tender Roja’s style sweetness from Peach and vanilla whereas the sweetness in VVCAM comes from Tuberose, Ylang-Ylang and Vanilla, being more intense and deeper, like the aroma of white flowers themselves. Both are intoxicating in their own way.

New Look 1947 is quite close to VVCAM as well, the biggest difference is in the opening and in overall VVCAM is more sour and creamier with stronger Ylang Ylang note while New Look 1947 stays somewhat earthier. New Look 1947 lasts longer and projects more.

I will write an in depth review of all later.

Samsara comparison for the curious
I thought I'd write this up as people might be wondering if this can replace the Samsara extrait. Crazy priced as this is, the extrait is not cheap either.

TLDR: no, this closer to modern Samsara EDP rather than the extrait.

The opening markedly different from the extrait (I have early 2000s version) - the Samsara has a mix of citruses with prominent lemon, and something else, very sour (not sure if the top notes in my bottle went south tho - the EDP doesn't have anything sour in it, the lemony citruses + something fruity like a peach or the like). Danger has sweeter citruses, I'd say mandarin and lemon are very prominent.

Samsara extrait is very woody, creamy, powdery and vanillic. There are aldehydes as well. It has a slight vintage vibe (likely from the aldehydes and carnation), but it manages to avoid smelling old-fashioned.
Danger is a simpler scent, smells like powdery jasmine-rose vanilla (aka the Guerlinade type of thing). There is less woodiness comparing to the extrait (although I can tell the base does have something woody synthetic in it, but not a lot), and less creaminess. I think it's closer to the modern Samsara EDP rather than the extrait, as the modern EDP is also simpler than the extrait, and less woody and creamy.

All three scents are not long lasting, Samsara EDP being the most fleeting (3 hours on me), Danger in the middle (4 hours on me) and then the extrait (5 hours on me). The deep dry down is different for the three: the extrait is actually powdery, vanillic and musky (in a cat litter sort of way, but it doesn't smell bad on me, there aren't many of those musks in there); Danger displays some smoked wood (similar to maybe synthetic vetyver); Samsara EDP is very powdery.

Considering the price difference, I'd go with Samsara EDP instead of this (unless you want not so much the scent as the luxury bells and whistles), or would procure the vintage Samsara extrait as it is more interesting and complex and lasts longer.

Final note: I had a discovery set with 51, Elixir, Amber Aoud, Sweetie Aoud, Gardenia, Enigma and this one. This one is the best of the bunch - because it smells like a Guerlain lol

Danger Roja
I first sprayed Danger at Harrods in London! Surrounded by absolute luxury, I was extremely excited! The scent has something special, something Oriental! I was also thrilled by all the beautiful things around me and took it home!! It is a lovely fragrance, very elegant and unique. The bottle is super beautiful.

Now I am back home, winter is over. What remains is a whole bottle of a fragrance that costs almost 400 euros!!! - and no, it is not worth that! So far, no one (my own husband first and foremost) has found me particularly erotic with it... (That’s how it is described) It doesn’t really match that description.

Conclusion: certainly elegant, certainly beautiful, like a classic great perfume!! But not worth the price! I acquired an emotion for a certain moment. Nothing more, nothing less.

Symbiosis
For days, my thoughts have been circling around Danger... and how I might describe it. I just can't find an image for it.
My first encounter with Danger was at Douglas on the Kö during our Parfumo meeting; it only got a tiny test spot on my upper arm, the rest of my arm was already a sea of scents. No way to perceive it.
During the second test, it had one arm to itself... phew, I thought, what a bomb, only animalistic notes reached me. Not my thing.
Somehow, a little sting remained that wouldn't let my curiosity rest.
So I got myself a sample. It took a whole three tests until it exploded. Quietly exploded.
Although Danger comes across loudly like a decked-out diva in a garish costume, it is indeed a serious lady.
A full-bodied woman.
Danger starts like a firework, where the sparks are flying.
A lump of honey, mixed with flowers, fresh citrus splashes that provide relief. Very heavy, pleasantly sweet. For me, a bit animalistic.
With a strong sillage.
Right now, I am only testing the Eau de Parfum. I am curious about the parfum.
The strong beginning gives way to a little calm after more than an hour.
Here, lovely flowers make their appearance. The scent becomes beautifully powdery. A slight soapy quality comes in. I don't pick out the peach, but the roses are present in a very subtle form. Rose honey. Is it the jasmine? There is a scent note, and it’s not the citrus notes!, that makes the fragrance a bit invigorating, consistently, very minimally sharp. I would almost say it’s pepper. But I will probably be laughed at for that....
Thus, the scent lingers for many hours. Very intense, but without being too heavy. Danger could be a cousin of Coco. But Coco remains heavy.
Danger accompanies me throughout the day without needing to reapply.
Like a warm, soft scarf, without constricting me.
There are hardly any fragrances that I find erotic.
I find Danger highly erotic. Sensual. Elegant.
I would be burning with curiosity to know how men perceive this scent.
I perceive Danger as a very complex fragrance, even though I lack the words to justify it. Mature.
And what I love most about this perfume is the end.
To me, the base smells like warm skin, lightly brushed with honey.
Definitely more warm skin than honey.
That’s why Danger is a skin scent for me. Different from L’Eau D’Hiver, which is fresh and brings me to the sea.
The end is closeness, physicality, and security. Still mature.
And that lasts for hours... how wonderfully good...
This perfume stimulates my imagination.
Due to my years-long Guerlain trauma (which I have now overcome ;)), I unfortunately cannot draw parallels to the fragrance twin mentioned here.
Danger, not a pretty name for this scent, not a pretty sound.
But there is certainly some truth to the meaning.

The Hyena
Hyenas - cunning, quick, angular, mysterious, and for some, downright malicious. - Yet they reflect something entirely their own. Something that slyly drives fear and rigidity into the body. Respect is paid to them. Whether one wants it or not.

There are several myths about hyenas. I've heard a lot over the years while traveling in Africa. In some parts, the hyena is an animal that one approaches with caution and respect, while in other areas it is despised and people have a terrible fear of them. It was said that witches rode hyenas, sang loudly and laughed to poison people, especially children.. With their song and a truly dull voice that teaches one to fear. Penetrating the memory of people, clinging like a grotesque tick and taking over the whole body. The hyena is indeed a powerful animal. No question. King of the beasts? The lion? African culture also remains silent about the hyena. No known mammal looks as grim and evil as this one. No facial features that show any sensitivity. Even the Black Man would laugh in his fist.

And then there is a very fine aspect and side to hyenas. In some cultures, it is said that the hyena represents rebirth and according to myths, it is the animal that brought the sun to the earth. In its barren, yet shimmering fur.

It is also an animal that brings the cycle of life to total decline or end. For hyenas are scavengers and eat what others leave behind.

And then she came. Out of the blue. Dignified, well-dressed, with a stern look and a handshake like that of a street worker. I was immediately fixated on her. Her eyes seemed cunning, as they twisted between a part of evil and then again of good. The blue sank partially into green and vice versa. I had never looked into such eyes in my life. The black hair framed her face, clinging to a body that had a rather impressive stature. Her lips pointed like a snitch, her body straight as a pencil.. She seemed uptight and truly evil. No looseness. Nothing. Not even a little. This appearance of a woman breathes fear into one’s body. A fear that has something positive about it. When you feel it, you realize you are truly alive. Feeling the threat at your neck. My insides tremble with adrenaline.

But then she opened her mouth. The body relaxed, the lips curled into a smile, the eyes widened into beautiful round eyes, the blue seemed to pull the sea into her. Life breathed into her at that moment. How one can be mistaken by the eye. Hardly seeing someone, one judges. But if you engage with the person and talk to her, a completely different wind begins to blow.

Dates followed and we exchanged a lot. She liked my urge. The urge to always have perfumes around me. So we spontaneously set off on a short trip. I absolutely wanted to buy her a perfume and spent days racking my brain about what I wanted to gift her. It had to be something entirely unique, something that couldn't possibly come from this world.. Above all, there should be a mystery resonating in the perfume.. I also wanted something threatening in it, all combined with a juicy, extremely lovely guy. I just wondered where I would find that? Then chance came to my aid and I encountered Roja. I tested a few scents and came to Danger. I didn’t know the name beforehand, only had numbers and a list.

I smelled it and the scent immediately sucked me in like a black hole in the sea. My body sank into the black nothingness and seemed to simply swallow me. Away from this world, straight into the other. There is something treacherous and threatening in the scent. It’s addictive!

Danger starts extremely strong, threatening, and one feels dazed. A fine hint of citrus allows for some looseness, but this is all suppressed by the bergamot. It is sweet, almost overwhelmingly sweet. The flowers weave through the perfume and take everything with them. The jasmine is very strong and presents itself here like the Grand Madame. Then it quiets down, the sweetness fades a bit. The powderiness rises. Gently it clings to my skin. It really fluffs up. My nose is pleasantly tickled. I have to shake myself briefly. First such depth and heaviness, and then this soothing feeling of softness.
Gently I place my nose back on my skin. My daze has still not faded. For the roses feel evil and solidify with their thorns on the body. A truly dirty perfume, I thought.

I can hardly smell anything animalistic, try as I might. The musk is subtle, and that’s a good thing. Otherwise, everything would overwhelm me. A beautiful musk scent that makes everything seem gentle and fine, even if there is a lot of threatening in the perfume. Fine wood spreads out and pulls the perfume back into the depths. A beautiful depth that carries pure excellence within it. I love black, and this is an extremely dark scent that also allows rays of sunshine. Light that illuminates the black souls. The hyena brought the sun into the world .. Mhm.. Farewell powder, you were almost swallowed. Danger came after the pull into the black nothingness, with large threatening steps, settled in one, and then slowly departed. With small steps.

I had a hyena in front of me. Why, I don’t know. It just came like that. This face. These movements that the hyena makes.

I told her about it. She grinned and then we both had to laugh. "You compare me to a hyena?" She looked at me in amazement and tilted her head back. Then she began to laugh mockingly. This turned into genuine joyful laughter. "Hyenas are mysterious, angular but also elegant. That makes them quite unique personalities!"

The comparison was only vague. I only associated her with that. Her appearance. Our first encounter..

Oh yes, that made it. A personality that connects fear and life.

When I then learned the name of the perfume, I had to pause. Someone had really thought about it.

She applied the scent, stretched, and she too seemed to fall into the pull .. My nose jumped with joy.

*

Nothing is more threatening than that which simultaneously breathes enlightenment and fear into one.
Love.

This should not be bearing Roja's signature on the cap. Smells extremely similar to Guerlain Samsara.

My husband - when asked about the scent - replied curtly: "It's okay."
Should I change the perfume or the husband? ;-)

Yes, I almost found my "old" Samsara again
Danger is a bit sweeter, Samsara's base is a bit more amber
Why so expensive? Cry, yuck
