Relaxed and approachable

The fragrance begins with fresh and fruity notes, but it is not cool. Even though there is no citrus note mentioned, I'm sure it contains some. It's of a moist and juicy freshness that's only partly stemming from pear. I detect a light overtone of aquatic freshness oszillating over the top note, too.
Banana leaf? What does that smell like? I perceive a hint of banana, nurticious and sweetish. Some green is in there as well, but whether that's banana or fig leaf I can't tell. There's woods as well, but I have to believe the composition listed as I can't verify.
Image is a rather warm scent that becomes drier and warmer towards the base. It is fruity and fresh, and even though the floral part is very much subdued, this fragrance reminds me of "Obsession Night for Women". This here too lets me think of nocturnal entertainments more than of a day scent.
There is nothing against using it during the day, mind. It's not intrusive, yet a bit unusual, and it has a friendly, relaxed and very much approachable vibrancy.
The bottle with its little lever to press down the nozzle is an amusing mechanical little gimmick which doesn't (noticeably) reduce its operability.

My bad, I didn’t pay proper attention when Cerruti published it nearly 25 years ago. Miserably it was discontinued, and I missed it. Suddenly, I ran into it and its female counterpart, and as testers weren’t available, I went for a blind buy. I own many fragrances by Nino Cerruti, which I adore and love. None have ever disappointed me, and therefore I trusted them. Imagination is the mind’s ability to imagine and the part of the mind where images exist. And Image represents a sharp, clear, perfectly composed and outlined vision.

Before introducing you to the scent, the bottle is attractive and deserves a plain 10. Just a tinge of citrus on a green, watery, and leafy background, a lemon zest and mild mint. Among the riot of bittersweet fruit, mainly primary pear and subordinate plum, the banana leaves take the stage and dominate during the first act. There is a dominant green element here. Fresh, dewy, with a watery slant with no saltiness or marine nuance. Although the pepper is mentioned, I get a slight spiciness.

As soon as Image enters the middle stage, it turns floral and woody. Prominent indolic jasmine shares the scene with a muted mineral fig leaf but, most of all, a resinous and piney cypress. Do not expect a figgy heart, it is just a whisper and far from Philosykos Eau de Toilette or Noble Fig , or other fragrances centred around the fig note, for instance. Blended with these notes, I catch a pleasant woodiness underneath, courtesy of the guaiac wood.

And then comes the last act, slightly rooty and earthy but full of creamy and musky accords. Now the scent is almost close to the skin, giving me a sense of cleanness and soapiness. The pear is still lingering, and a verdant vetiver duels with a creamy sandal and clean musk. A refined patchouli completes the scene, light and modern, seductive, and the amber just adds a tinge of saltiness. Hence, vetiver oozes with very rich facets, herbaceous and a tad smoky, and cedar recalls the smell of sawdust.

Decent sillage for the first hours, moderate on projection, while lasting several hours, especially on clothes. An excellent all-around summer scent designed to be light for the warmer months, where stronger fragrances can be overpowering. Fresh, sweet, ideal for summer holidays, for going out with friends, but also perfect for going to work, not offensive and pristine. If you like non-intrusive cologne, this is for you, absolutely!

Great for spring/summer days

Image is a very nice clean out of the shower type scent! It is crisp & beautiful for spring /summer days right after a shower! Had a change of heart, longevity is about 8 hours, altho it does seem to become faint the longer it is on your skin, but it is still there! & yes spray on ALOT! You wont overdue it!

The most disappointing scent in my growing collection

This was a blind buy. If only my olfactories were "blind", too.

I've never come to a more opposite conclusion on any scent more than this one.

This is completely linear reeking of Johnson and Johnson's Baby Shampoo. It's absolutely like spraying yourself with baby shampoo. Now, if I'm under 5 this might actually be acceptable but no man should ever smell like this, or woman, either.

The sprayer is unique and interesting...the scent is anything but.

Definitely, try before you buy.

I'm just cleaning up here

It's time to tidy up a bit behind me. Many of my old comments have a tendency towards drama and let's say ... I don't see myself that way anymore. And even though perfumes and scents are still an emotional matter for me, my perception (and writing style) has changed a bit.

What hasn't changed, however, is my attitude towards this fragrance. Because in my eyes, it still gets a lot right and above all one thing: differently.
If I had to describe Cerruti Image in one word, it would probably be "authentic".
It doesn't try to sweep the masses off their feet, it doesn't want to be in the spotlight. But it knows what it can do: shine in the sun and keep a cool head while it leans back and enjoys life.
Absolutely unobtrusive, yet not at all inconspicuous, it convinces with a fruity-sweet-juicy opening.
The theme remains "light", as there's nothing heavy, nothing stuffy here; it's so airy fresh that one (I) can't get enough of it :)
It's like biting into a fresh, ripe, juicy, bright green pear. Not crunchy, but soft. So soft that the fruit juice runs down the wrist - all of this lightly peppered to keep it from getting boring.
I would be lying if I claimed I could identify the leaf notes. But I dare say they make the fragrance beautifully light. They definitely bring, together with the jasmine, another interesting layer to the scent, and once you've smelled a leaf, you surely recognize that green, airy bitterness. Watery and lively.
The woody base is probably the most unremarkable part of the fragrance, but it fits just as well into the overall picture as everything else before it. It is also by far the most bitter part and allows Cerruti Image to fade out slowly and surely.

Overall, the fragrance always evokes associations of a jungle right after the rain for me. Rich, green, dense, but refreshing, airy, and pure.
How long do such showers in the jungle last on average? The fragrance definitely lasts a solid 6-7 hours.
You could say that I fell in love with it 8 years ago :) Somehow I can also wonderfully identify with Cerruti Image; it's just a personal thing for me.

Clear recommendation from me to buy, even blind, because it works like no other.
(Even though secretly I would of course like to be the only one wearing this fragrance)
