Baldessarini (Mäurer & Wirtz) is a low-budget brand in the perfume segment. "Cool Force" is an EdT that can be found for €20 in the 30-50ml range. And that's how the scent reveals itself.

The opening is citrusy, fresh, and slightly creamy. Mainly bergamot, later neroli, calone, and woods. It somewhat reminds me of the classic Acqua di Gio EdT by Armani. However, Cool Force is a bit more synthetic and has even lower longevity and projection (1-2h relatively close to the skin). It's okay for sports or as a quick refreshment on warm days, and it's usable after showering or as a car scent. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer much more than that. The flanker "Cool Force Sport" is somewhat better (see my review). It's better to spend a few more euros or alternatively opt for fragrances like Adidas Move or Nautica Voyage, as they provide better freshies for comparable money.

This is a Baldessarini that doesn't reach me immediately.

The title alone raises questions: Cool violence?
That doesn't sound very inviting.

And the fragrance doesn't seem powerful to me in any way.
It doesn't have to be - but then why such grand words?

As a frequent reader, I habitually attribute meaning to texts.
Which is not always appropriate, as some naming conventions show me.

"Cool" would have sufficed in this case, as the fragrance, with its neroli and aquatic notes, precisely conveys this message.
The bergamot is fresh and pleasantly spiced with cardamom.
The softly sweet patchouli finish ultimately reconciles me with the misleading name.

A good everyday scent, rather a bit tame and reserved, but perfectly suitable for daily wear.

Uncool Attempt to Ride the Wave of Acqua di Giò

With the latest Baldessarini offspring, you can already sense from afar that they want to ride the success wave of Acqua di Giò. Just the matte satin bottle with the same type of embossing indicates anything but subtlety.

And with the name "Cool," they are also fishing in the cool waters of Davidoff.

However, no one should believe that this is a discounted bargain. Even though Baldessarini has a bit of a drugstore charm, the prices are set at a similarly high level as the competitors.

There are certainly slight differences to Armani in the sweet-spicy top note. This is likely to appeal more to the younger target group, while the slightly later development aligns more with AdG. Nevertheless, there remains a stale, let’s say “beige scent” of narrowly synthesized accompanying notes.

Otherwise, the direction is clear and anything but independent or even original. It is already quite bold to offer such a fragrance to the young buyer demographic with a longevity of now until immediately and a projection from here to just over here.

Especially on hot days, it goes down so much that acquiring a pocket sprayer would be more than advisable, should one actually want to get something out of this Eau de Toilette.
