Chypre with a hairspray topnote

Oof that first hour or so is tough. I was expecting a clean soapy shavingcream but first hour is a very obnoxious, high in the nose, aldehydic rose smell. Kind of like hairspray. I can’t stand that and almost wanted to take a shower soon after.
But this is one of those classic ELDO’s where nothing is what it seems. During drydown it started to morph into something that somehow reminded me of Dior Sauvage (the king in this story?) . Maybe it’s the high doses of ambroxan. It’s getting more and more mossy and heavy and actually begins to smell acceptable. But nowhere near the classic signature scent that Sauvage got to be. “Just nice”, that’s where it ends.

Once again a perfume I respect for the art, but just doesn’t fully captivate me enough to justify a full bottle.

This gives me nostalgia of a memory I’ve never had but one that I wish I had. It’s super unique.

I think of this scent as someone who’s taken an open shower outside their little cabin in the damp rainforest during a light rain with an ivory white soap bar, and got into their fresh & clean white linen clothing after. After, they go outside and take a walk down to the hammock that’s tied between two mossy trees between a bunch of foliage that’s damp and dewy from the recent rainstorm. A clean, soapy scent that has a subtly creeping mossy aspect. It’s amazing!

Orcanox is the real protagonist.

It starts very soapy with a medium phase where the rose becomes more evident, a rose of the detergent or softening type, too industrial and not very natural.

In the background, you can always appreciate the "Orcanox" (Ambroxan) with its typical pungent smell among bergamot, salt and old books.

Average performance. Acceptable duration and timid projection and perhaps pulling towards the male side.

Nothing innovative or remarkable, although it is pleasant. It really looks like an Ambroxan bomb to me.

Epitome of "clean" scent

I had this one on my wish list for the longest time and fell in love with it at first smell.
After seeing the name of the perfume I thought it was going to be some sort of woody, spicy, resinous type smell, but that is not ELDO. This is a clean bomb! At first sniff (and even in the dry down) you really get the soap note, but also the florals which are fabulous, moss and musk.
I love clean scents, but this one is different in the best way possible, it's not just a skin scent as the others. To some it may seem to lean a bit more masculine, but to me it is perfectly unisex and almost genderless as most ELDO perfumes are.
If you love clean scents this is a must try.

Rose laundry detergent

Not saying this in a bad way at all. This alongside Remarkable People its the cleanest scent ELDO has put out.

If you've been looking for a clean rose scent that doesn't smell like everything else on the market or wanted a more rosy rose-patchouli, then this is it. Clean, soapy and naturalistic rose with some green facets to it, the patchouli here isn't that prominent. What I most get out of it is the bright rose, light jasmine, some pepper in the opening, and the aldehydes which make this scent so clean. And yet the base would make you think it would be dark and dirty.

Overall it's easy to grab and go, the wearing experience is also very nice. Doesn't blow me away but its a good versatile spring floral to try!

Dense, but not creamy or sweet, white florals with a lone rose placed on top, supported by fluffy musk and woody molecules. Simple. Great.
