Suspend Your Preconceptions
Are you one of those people that like to dive into the scent pyramid before testing a fragrance? Do you think that the knowledge of the scent pyramid is going to give you guidance when it comes to the fragrance?nnThis is one of the beautiful instances where that just doesn’t work. Because even if I told you that this is a spicy fresh aquatic floral, I think for most people the very next question is “What does that smell like?”nnIn this case, you have creamy florals intertwined with aquatic notes and frankincense to create an impression of the sea air wafting through flowers. This is very much like a seascape in visual art; Mr. Ammon is using the olfactory palette to create an impression of a seascape with flowers. And, while this is artful, editorial and evocative, it is also wearable and I think it’s quite lovely.
