What a beautifully Rose tinted surprise!!
Technically I shouldn't like this fragrance … berries (fruit, my nemesis in many a frag) and musk!?!? I should be running for the hills … instead, I bought this beauty immediately after trying it yesterday in the Duty Free at Abu Dhabi International. It's just gorgeous!!

I had always been led to believe that Guerlain's AA range were very watery, more like body mists than Eaux de Toilette. Wrong!! I also tried new Limon Verde, which smells like spilled caipirinha (but in such a good way!!) and Neroli Bianca , which I fell in love with and will be buying on my return journey!

Flora Rosa opens with a jolt of Pink Grapefruit to my nose … I know it's not listed but I'd lay my head on a block that it's there! I may just be smelling the tartness of sour berries but the citric nature of the opening is undeniable! Thankfully, this 'berry' opening is not very fruity and sets a beautiful stage for a sublime Rose and Iris chord to develop calmly.
These are not red roses, they are more pink and white … subtle and reminiscent of Tea Rose … building in grandeur as if one were adding freshly cut roses to a vase individually over a period of time, enjoying the intensity of them as more and more blooms fill the air with their scent.
The faintest hint of Iris adds a cosmetic touch to the composition, giving it a slightly retro feel … lipstick-y if you will.
The (undoubtedly) White Musk that this fragrance contains is blessedly subdued by the Roses and seems to act as a fixative … more of it would have rendered this fragrance unwearable to me.
Sadly Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa is a 'travel exclusive', making it tough to find unless one travels via large International airports frequently. It hardly makes sense that something so lovely from Guerlain would be made almost impossible to buy!

If you enjoy fresh Rose fragrances and have the opportunity of getting your hands on this I wouldn't hesitate for a second. Highly recommended as a blind buy for Rose lovers … if you don't travel, find someone who does!

Lively Day Fragrance, Exclusive for Travelers
Flora Rosa - here it stands before me, the honeycomb-shaped bottle of Guerlain Aqua Allegorias, filled with the pale pink EdT. I received the fragrance today after winning it on eBay at a relatively low price. Why? Because Flora Rosa is a Limited Edition, "Travellers Exclusive," as noted on the packaging. This means the perfume is only available in Duty Free shops, airplanes, ships, etc.
So I have become a traveler without having traveled from Vienna-Mariahilf to Vienna-Floridsdorf. But Flora Rosa is not offered on subways anyway.

It was once again a blind purchase. I was curious about this fragrance because the descriptions are so promising to enthusiastic. The EdT is described as floral-fruity and is said to be a blend of red berries, rose, iris, and musk according to the fragrance notes.

Perfumer Thierry Wasser is not unknown to me. Therefore, I dared to buy it without a prior test. I already own the refreshing Pera Granita and the gentle Rosa Rossa from the Aqua Allegoria series - both highly appreciated creations by Monsieur Wasser, with Rosa Rossa being a recent rediscovery for me. Although I liked the scent, I was disappointed by its low longevity. Thus, Rosa Rossa was hardly my first choice among my fragrances. It was a pleasant scent for almost all occasions, for everyday life, for leisure & co., which I liked to use generously but would rather not repurchase. However, I discovered that I slowly grew fond of the scent and increasingly, almost automatically, reached for this bottle. Due to enthusiastic comments, I then became aware of Flora Rosa and began to be interested in a comparison with Rosa Rossa.

In both perfumes, Monsieur Wasser works with berries, rose, and musk. However, the scents are not very similar - except that both unfortunately have a rather low longevity and sillage.

Flora Rosa starts with me simply thinking: "Wonderful!"
The scent is unexpectedly fresh, pleasant, light, and lively.
I imagine the flight attendant walking through the airplane with this scent, smiling and spraying a little around, so that soon the entire passenger cabin is filled with this delightful, powdery rose scent. There will hardly be anyone who can resist the charm of this perfume. Although Flora Rosa is a women's fragrance, most male travelers know women who would appreciate such a souvenir. And the women are probably almost all taken with so much grace and freshness.
Rose scents are not always fresh. Often they are too sweet or heavy. Flora Rosa bears the marks of the times and surprises with this fruity freshness of red berries that almost envelops you explosively after spraying - unfortunately only for a short time. When I think of red berries here, I primarily think of raspberries, sweet but dry raspberries that remind me a bit of raspberry juice or the raspberry candies of childhood.

After this first freshness bomb, the rose quickly appears, accompanied by the powdery iris, which ensures that the scent does not become too sweet and remains beautifully dry. This is how roses are liked today. No kitsch, no synthetic sweetness, nothing overloaded or heavy, but an uncomplicated sophistication that one can simply say yes to. The scent is an ideal companion for leisure, everyday life, traveling, city strolls, walks, shopping trips, bathing excursions… For the evening, it seems too light, too little intense to me.

Flora Rosa is primarily a summer scent for me, but it also fits any occasion where one wants to feel fresh or refreshed - like traveling.
It is a good, light rose-raspberry scent that brings joy and gives a sense of well-groomedness.
The musk stays more in the background. It rounds off the scent but "grounds" the airy, light, lively quality a bit without diminishing these qualities.

I can't imagine that one can go wrong with Flora Rosa. It is a scent that suits almost every woman, whether young or old, blonde or dark-haired, dreamy or business lady. It adapts as a discreet companion, pleasing, pleasant, fresh - like pink roses, dew-kissed or just after the rain. Meanwhile, the raspberries play an almost equally important role and bring a youthful, cheerful quality to the scent.
It is not "sophisticated" or an intellectual, elitist niche scent that poses riddles or invites analysis. Instead, it is sympathetic, easily accessible, and modern.

I like this scent and will like it even more when the hot days come. It may not be a "big," "special" scent, but it is altogether lovable and universally wearable.

Rosa Rossa from the same workshop, just five years later, is already a bit more substantial and has more depth. The summery raspberries have turned into blackcurrants, accompanied by bergamot, lemon, and lychee. The rose has been joined by plum and a romantic peony, and the (white) musk has fine sandalwood and aromatic cedar. I read on fragrantica.de that Rosa Rossa even contains ISO-E-Super. Therefore, it does not surprise me that the scent seems so interesting to me. And not only that: Rosa Rossa appears to me to be nobler, more elegant, more mature, softer, very feminine, and - due to the greater number of fragrance notes - more complex, even though it is also an EdT - I checked again. The endearingly impetuous, natural freshness of Flora Rosa, however, is unbeatable.

Conclusion: One should not compare the two but wear them alternately.

Gone with the Wind
Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa is a dream of berry sorbet and rose petals. Lightly buoyant and carefree in its rosy clarity. Sparkling freshness like dew drops on a meadow on a summer morning and a hint of iris enchant the senses. The fragrance is wonderfully fresh yet soft, fascinatingly feminine and delightful. The musk becomes a hammock in the summer breeze for the roses, gently rocking Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa until the end, which unfortunately comes all too quickly.
Here, one must definitely reapply, as otherwise, you only have a brief pleasure. However, Flora Rosa is also ideal on hot summer days or whenever one simply craves a skin-close freshness and a wonderful and charmingly sweet scent.

Raspberry Soda with Rose Powder
Hmm… can this fragrance be seen as fruity-floral? I don’t know… the berry-rose combo actually suggests that. My nose, however, disagrees in this case. Because normally, I don’t react well to fruity-florals. They prick me, they poke me, I find them too much and exhausting after a while. Flora Rosa is truly a wonderful exception, though. The opening of red berries immediately brings back old childhood memories for me. Back then, my mother would always mix this lemonade from a few drops of raspberry syrup and sparkling water for special occasions. Wonderfully berry-like but not too sweet thanks to the fizz. Just as delicious and unsweetened are the berries of the fragrance. I can see them; red, ripe, and juicy but unsweetened and natural. Not long after, a little pink rose comes along and joins the berries. At this point, I usually fail. Because this combo often feels like an accident to me; too much of everything, nothing fits, and everything crashes together head-on and ruthlessly, without regard for losses. But none of that happens. Is it the iris that counteracts with its powderiness, or is this composition simply so fine that it doesn’t seem overloaded to me? Well, perhaps a brief word about the rose at this point. It is not a diva that absorbs or overshadows everything around it, but that doesn’t mean it is weak or scentless. A noble rose, the color is a vibrant pink. It takes a step toward the berries, making it clear: Here I am, your solo is over. My friend Iris has also come along, and together we ensure that a fragrance emerges here that is not just made for 16-year-olds. And so a beautiful connection remains. After that, not much happens. It becomes softer over time, and the individual components merge more and more into a whole. In this Aqua Allegoria, I have found a very beautiful and noble but also very modern rose fragrance for myself. Longevity, like most AAs, is unfortunately only mediocre, the bottle is beautifully familiar. It’s a shame that it is limited and only available in duty-free, because I could wear it in every season except winter…

Floral-Fruity for Adults!
Aqua Allegoria Flora Rosa was a spontaneous purchase for me at the Duty Free sale. Just because of the price, I would never have left it behind and I am now very glad that I took it with me. When I first tested it, it was too rosy for me, but I no longer see it that way.

Flora Rosa starts very fresh with red berries. These are by no means too sweet or too sour, but simply wonderfully fresh and fruity. I’m not usually a fan of fruity scents, but with Flora Rosa, I really like the fruity note because it is very natural and not artificial or exaggerated at all. After a while, the rose slowly joins in. I find the rose in Flora Rosa very successful. It is a crisp, fresh red rose. At first, I found it too strong, but now I think it blends beautifully with the red berries. Thus, Flora Rosa is neither too fruity nor too floral. Just a lovely fresh scent for spring and summer.

When I read the fragrance notes, I initially thought it would be more of a scent for teenage girls, but that is absolutely not the case. On the contrary! Because Flora Rosa is rather unsweetened, I don’t find it girly at all; instead, I think it is a very adult fragrance. The bottle is uniquely beautiful, and I find the little engraved bee on the cap particularly sweet, which fits very well with the "Bee-Bottle" look.

"Just" a fruity floral, but beautifully and subtly presented here: powdery rose is at the center, berries are rolling around in the background.

Juicy, dark red berries keep the fruity roses in check. Sinking into powdery musk fluff. Delicate freshness. Soft + fleeting. Nice.

Very nice fruity-floral scent that I really enjoy. Just a notch better composed, because it's Guerlain. But it can be cheaper...

Summer rose with berries ...
Light - already fresh - subtly sweetened!
Unfortunately, no Guerlain magic musk.
Pretty boring in the drydown :(

Sometimes it's nice when a fragrance is just pleasant and without much drama. It could be a bit more long-lasting for me.
