Boozy Cherry
This is the first cherry scent that doesn't turn into cough syrup on me. Hurray! IWCF opens with an almond that is a bit synthetic, but the synthetic quality disappears quickly for me. The bright, boozy cherry starts to appear as that synthetic quality disappears, and the almond becomes more soft and creamy.
I only get a hint of rose, but the pepper adds a lively zing to the almond and cherry liqueur. Jimmy Choo's fruit notes always seem to work well on me. I really enjoy the cherry liqueur note. It isn't synthetic, nor does it resemble cough syrup. I get the sense of a real cherry liqueur, sweet, boozy with just the right touch of sourness, almost throughout the life of the fragrance.
For a short time, I get the cherry liqueur only, but jasmine soon makes an appearance, bringing a white-floral richness of which I'm very fond. The vetiver adds a dry, earthy quality the scent needs and of which it could use a bit more, IMO.
The cherry liqueur stays through a good part of the drydown, which is nice. When the cherry does fade, the vanilla, tonka, mossy drydown is nothing original, but I'm particularly fond of those notes and really like the perfectly unisex drydown.
IWCF doesn't have much in common with the original IWC except in that they are both very sweet fragrances with a dominant fruit note (peach for IWC) and great longevity. IWCF is darker, slightly less sweet (althogh still very sweet) more suitable for colder weather and IMO, only, more unisex.
I think this is a bit pricey for what it is, but I may buy a small bottle for the not-at-all-like-cough-syrup-which-I-hate cherry note. IWCF easily lasts all day, with strong projection and a really good sillage trail.
