Rise and shine!
The most fascinating contradiction in perfume is, when smelled directly on skin it represents a carnal picture of dirt, while the sillage is of a heavenly light creaminess.

Moon dance may be considered distant, but as you glide along in your smooth orbit (not unlike the most famous moondancing star ever), your -weightless- trail will lift and corrupt all bystanders, their jaws dropped to the ground.

Eternally denoted as beautiful.

Antique Tuberose
I get tuberose, something sweet and powdery (presumably violet,) patchouli and incense. Some animalic undertones as well. Slightly smoky. At times it gives the impression of prunes, raisins and other dried fruit (in a good way.)

Overall its a masterfully blended, complex floral. It can certainly come off a bit vintage, but not in an expired aldehyde gone off way. A couple people compared it l'Huere Bleue and while it doesn't really smell like it, it leaves a similar impression.

The performance is outstanding. One spray from far away will do you all day.

Moonlight - Symphony (à la Juliette Has A Gun)
There are natural spectacles that I simply can't get enough of. Among them is, of course, the full moon. I find it most beautiful when I can observe it over the sea. I have been fortunate enough to experience it in all its glory over the Mediterranean several times. Huge and with its own silvery-gray light, it stands over the sea and reflects in it. Touchingly beautiful, mystical, fascinating, and at the same time somewhat frightening.

Some time ago, I happened to receive a sample of "Moon Dance" by Juliette Has A Gun, and the name and the associated associations sparked a bit of testing interest at most. This is probably due to the fact that the "normal" JHAG fragrances have not really impressed me. Not yet.

Of course, it didn't take long before a spray of "Moon Dance" landed on my skin. Without too many expectations.
"Moon Dance" starts with fresh bergamot. OK, that's not a surprise, as it's the case with many fragrances. However, the duration of the bergamot in this case is only a matter of seconds.
Immediately following are deep dark red rose and radiant tuberose with a hint of violet in tow. This may sound "flowery" and harmless, but it is in no way so.
Rose and tuberose compete with mature and full-bodied radiance, but there is no winner. Deep, dark, and in full bloom, they dominate the scene. The violet cleverly lays underneath and ensures that the floral dream does not turn into a sweet inferno and floral nightmare with its restrained and unsweetened powderiness.
Since the little violet cannot keep up with the rose-tuberose power alone for long, a portion of patchouli with very restrained sweetness but a good amount of spiciness joins in.
Apparently, that's all it takes, because from this point on, I have a "moonlight symphony" for the nose on my skin.

"Moon Dance" impresses with an incredible depth of scent that you really don't experience often. All the fragrance components seem to be fused together, forming a fragrant unity that has completely connected with my skin. With every movement, this spicy-powdery-floral trio of rose, tuberose, and patchouli rises to my nose. Enchantingly beautiful, mysterious, dark, mystical, and with a good dose of eroticism, it accompanies me in shades of red-violet for many hours. It envelops me, embraces me, clings closely to me, and takes full possession of me. "Moon Dance" is demanding and doesn't like to share; its motto is all or nothing.

Romano Ricci (great-grandson of Nina Ricci, as well as grandson of Robert Ricci, the perfumer who created bestsellers like L'Air du Temps for the Ricci house) has done a fantastic job here and created an absolutely extraordinary rose-tuberose fragrance. Even though "Moon Dance" is by no means a quiet scent, it still refrains from loud screaming. The often perceived unpleasant dominance and overacting of tuberose has been perfectly toned down by Romano Ricci, creating a tolerable, or rather worry-free, volume.

And although this fragrance appears very feminine due to its components, I still find it wearable by men as well.

The key (for both genders) lies solely in the dosage:
- One spray and every man will still be perceived as a man.
- One to two sprays emphasize the femininity of every woman.
- From three sprays onwards, every woman inevitably becomes a vamp.

So here, everyone literally has it in their own hands.

As for me, I am completely reconciled with JHAG, as this fragrance is a true gift, of high quality, and in my view, one of the most perfect interpretations of the tuberose theme ever.

I would like to hear this symphony more often now.

Dancing Through Life
For centuries, the moon has exerted a mysterious attraction on us humans. The cause of ebb and flow, it has been and continues to be an inspiration for poets and dreamers, painters and musicians.
The moon has risen, Dark Side of the Moon, Moonlight Shadow, and Moonlit Night - my favorite poem by Eichendorff, whose lyrical beginning makes me soar and whose ending breaks my heart every time. Jules Verne - De la Terre á la Lune. The journey to the moon - a science fiction film in 1902 - became a reality in 1969.

The moon leads people into depth, to themselves. Seemingly unattainable, it faithfully orbits the Earth. Its far side is never shown to us.
Everyone is a moon and has a dark side which he never shows to anybody.
(Mark Twain)
I could go on forever raving about the moon in paintings, poems, and songs.
Much-sung moon and now also the namesake of fragrances. Moon Dance is the name given by Juliette has a gun to the scent from the Luxury Collection in the silver transparent bottle with violet liquid. A curved script with shadows adorns the flacon. The perfumer is Romano Ricci, great-grandson of Nina Ricci. With Juliette has a gun, he has realized his dreams. And as often in his fragrances, he composes contrasts into a harmonious whole.

Moon Dance starts with slightly musty bergamot. Dark rose and tuberose dance around each other. A violet joins in, dancing with both.
Interwoven with moonlight is patchouli... I usually don’t like patch... too cellar-like, too earthy. But maybe that’s exactly what a dance on the moon needs - something that grounds it. The silvery cool moonbeam needs the earthy warmth of patchouli.
The scent becomes powdery. Slightly sweet, without becoming too sweet.
Even if one doesn’t like patch or tuberose, the scent is very harmonious. Only in the first hour does it clash.
A beautiful, erotic scent that imparts a mystical, mysterious aura. A faithful companion for the evening, for going out and for intimate moments for two.
Seductive, elegant, noble…wicked…A scent with depth. A scent that unites contrasts. Romantic and provocative, devoted and independent. For people who love and live passion! For Romeo and Juliet, who now has a gun.
The moon borrows its light from the sun. Its silver mirror on the water fascinates… it will still be there when we are no more… the fear of infinity, of one’s own finitude…
Until then, I live my dark sides and dance with Moon Dance

Tube-Rose
No, why do people do this? Why combine the terms "Moon" and "Dance" in a fragrance name? Why? Because everyone can imagine something nice, beautiful, even something romantic. A moon dance sounds great, right?

But no, the DonJuanDeCat here, who is probably considered a total freak by now (especially by the ladies here *sniff*), of course has to think of something else first. Sure, I also think a moon dance sounds wonderful. And yes, I might also think of Michael Jackson's moonwalk like some others… and yes, Moon Dance is a great name!

But, as with the fragrance "Fleur de Lune," I have to think of a quote: "Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?!"… and no, I’d rather not say where that’s from…
… well, fine… it’s from Batman… you should know that by now *sob* … aaaaargh, let’s quickly move on to the fragrance description…!!!

The fragrance:
The scent starts with zesty roses… how is that supposed to work? Well, the roses indeed work together with the bergamot, and bergamot comes across a bit zesty (and a bit spicy), while the roses provide a certain floral sweetness.
Quickly, the tuberose also mixes in, which will appeal more to those who like tuberoses, as the scent of the tuberose is somewhat special. This shouldn’t be misunderstood, as it’s not bad, it just might not appeal to everyone since the scent comes across as heavier.
However, the tuberose seems unable to decide whether to stay or go, appearing and then disappearing again. This goes back and forth for quite some time.
The bergamot disappears fairly quickly, so that the roses become even more prominent, which then become the main scent note, closely followed by the tuberoses.
In the end, the scent remains tuberose-like, but it also develops a medium-strong patchouli note. Although a bit later, the tuberose recedes somewhat, allowing the (now somehow darker) roses to be smelled more strongly.

The sillage and longevity:
The projection is above average to actually quite good. I wouldn’t call it room-filling (well, depending on the dosage), but it is still strong enough to be detected well for a longer time.
The longevity is also quite good, lasting more than eight hours, and could even last much longer with proper dosing.

The bottle:
The bottle of this Juliette fragrance is one of the few that is not cylindrical, but rectangular and transparent. It is filled with a dark red fragrance liquid. There is no label; instead, everything is printed in a beautiful cursive font on the front of the bottle. The cap is chrome-plated and slightly trapezoidal. All in all, it feels high-quality and quite nice.

Hmm, I must say that the fragrance exudes a really beautiful, feminine aura. What I mean is that it must work really well on women. Additionally, the roses and the tuberose give the scent a somewhat dark mysterious quality, making it more of an evening fragrance or a scent for special occasions for me. Especially on colder days.
Therefore, I think one should really give this fragrance a try. But be careful with the dosage; you could easily misjudge and spray too much.

I hope that next time I don’t end up with a fragrance with a similar name that somehow reminds me of Batman… *sigh* and I haven’t even published the fragrance "Bat" by Zoologist yet… *sigh sigh*

If Cinderella's silver dress had a scent, I'd describe it as Moon Dance - a powdery, light, and clean
dream of a perfume.

Patch whispers: Softly.
Tuberose: They are coming.
Bergamot butterflies float over violet ponds.
Rose scents: They dance in the moonlight.
Heavenly.
