"Antigua Bay" a unique refreshment for summer straight from Italy!
Morph, an Italian brand that stands for innovation, change, and metamorphosis. The fragrances from Morph are, in my experience, always very fascinating and unpredictable, and this scent is no different.
The fragrance starts with a very unusual opening that is almost hard to put into words. Although no citrus notes are listed, there is a magical and subtle citrus (perhaps bergamot?) floating alongside the aquatic and herbal notes. However, the scent is not just fresh; it gains a bit of spice and a touch of saltiness from a very subtle and fitting pepper note!
I immediately think of a pleasant coolness in a lake on a warm summer day. The lake is full of water lilies and overgrown with dense pondweed, and you can feel the wet coolness on your skin. It smells truly mysterious and almost mystical!
Now the warm evening sun dries the wet skin and brings a certain warmth and sweetness into the heart of the initially cool fragrance. Here, "Antigua" feels very invigorating and salty, similar to a sea breeze.
Tonka bean, vanilla notes, and amber, along with woody notes accompanied by musk, increasingly envelop the initial notes and create a beautiful, unique, sweet, and enveloping dry-down.
I perceive eucalyptus and tonka bean most strongly throughout the entire fragrance journey.
The scent lasts really well, and for a rather fresh summer fragrance, the 6-8 hours of longevity on my skin are definitely noticeable! The bottle is typically appealing and high-quality for Morph. A true value-for-money gem that makes you smell truly unique in summer. Perhaps not a compliment monster, but definitely a unique selling point for both men and women!
For me, a standalone fragrance that completely redefines the term "aquatic." 100% worth a test for lovers of unusual scents!
