Even if my title may sound a bit strange, it is still fitting. Because about a year ago, I tried the Prada Luna Rossa Sport. I didn't think it was bad (I've adjusted its rating slightly upwards, as I like it a bit more now). However, the Sport was not sporty at all. On the contrary, it is much more of a fragrance for cooler days, as it is quite sweet.
In fact, you could rather go out partying with the Sport, as its scent is reminiscent of Chanel Allure Homme Sport, which is also not a true sport fragrance (meaning nothing fresh-smelling).
Well, now there is a fourth Luna Rossa fragrance. The Eau Sport, whose name couldn't be more uninspired... but let's get to the scent:
The scent:
So, the Eau Sport starts off noticeably fresher. You can smell a citrusy lemon and bergamot, which make the fragrance fresh, meaning it should work well on warm days. But shortly after, you can immediately smell the amber, which you could also detect quite quickly in the first Sport. However, there is one difference: In the regular Sport, vanilla and tonka bean immediately follow, making the scent very sweet quickly. Here, in the Eau, there is only the amber, which, while sweet-smelling, is overall a bit weak and thus emits a pleasant, light sweetness that is also bearable on warmer days. After some time, lavender comes into play, giving the scent a very slight, classic touch through this floral note.
In the base, there is amber, which, as mentioned, has been noticeable from the start and only smells slightly sweet, as the citrus notes work quite well for one or two hours before fading. The cedar wood adds a woody note (what else...) and fits well with the rest, although it is somewhat weak.
Longevity and sillage:
Here we have the biggest difference between the two Sport editions. While the first Luna Rossa Sport can last more than eight hours on the skin, the Eau barely manages half that, lasting four or five hours.
The sillage is also significantly lower, so it should be reapplied after two to three hours, as otherwise hardly anyone will notice it on you.
The bottle:
The bottle has a similar style to all Luna Rossa Sport bottles, although here, as with the Sport, the "cool grill-like" design has been omitted. Instead, the bottle is completely made of glass. The lower part is white or milky and taller than the Sport. The upper part is clear and filled with a similarly clear fragrance liquid. The red Prada logo runs through the middle. The spray head is flat and large. All in all, a quite nice bottle, although I still prefer the original Luna Rossa bottle the most.
As mentioned, this fragrance can certainly be considered more sporty due to its distinctly fresher aura than the first Sport. The differences to the regular or first Sport are very clear, as this one is much less sweet and appears more floral with the lavender.
Therefore, the Eau Sport can also be used well on warm days, although it may still not be suitable for days when it exceeds 30 degrees. However, with you crazy people, you never know which fragrance you use when :D
The Eau is not a going-out or party scent, as it lacks a bit in endurance, but it can be used as a daytime fragrance. Although one could also stick with the proper, regular Luna Rossa.
Well, you can take a look at it; it's not bad, but it doesn't come close to an Infusion d’Homme / d’Iris Cedre or even the Amber pour Homme. However, it also lacks any soapy or clean-smelling notes (if that bothers some), although something similar does flicker very faintly just before the end, but to smell that, you really have to get very close to the sprayed area; otherwise, you hardly notice it.
