Spicebomb comes back, living up to its name
While I admit this was a completely blind by for myself, I have absolutely ZERO regrets for doing it. I’m loving what they did with it.

It starts out with a sweet spiciness; think of fireball candy/spicy trick gum. That’s the opening I get from it. Very similar to that spicy hot cinnamon aroma. And then as it goes into the mid-tones you start to feel that habanero/chili pepper aura. It leaves that spicy feeling in the air that you sense when you (or someone close to you) have eaten very hot and spicy, habanero (or chili pepper) based food. It’s amazing how vivid and clear that smell is, without leaving the eye watering burn behind it. It’s EXACTLY the same scent, it just doesn’t inflict pain. As the drydown continues, the chili pepper spiciness backs off and the sweetness comes back, but the vibe is essentially the same throughout; a spicy hot cinnamon base that zigzags up and down between a sweet and spicy feel.

The projection it has radiates outward to an easy 4ft radius, and the sillage sits and lingers nicely just like the Spicebomb Extreme does. The longevity is great just like all the rest of the V&R Spicebomb line, going an easy 8hours long.

I’m very happy that I picked this one up. One of my faves at the moment. Not going to be for everyone, and probably not blind buy worthy, but I am very happy to have it in my collection.

The scent of Winter and Christmas markets
If you've ever been to a Christmas market, this is the smell you can easily recognize. I've read the other reviews here but I couldn't completely agree with any of these. In this fragrance you can small hot mulled (spiced) wine, apple cinnamon pie and vanilla. The most prominent in the opening is the spicy Pimento aroma (i.e. smell that can be described as a mixture of cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon with the accent on cloves). One of the aroma chemicals listed in the ingredients - Eugenol also has this cloves smell. Therefore, the opening resembles spiced wine including relatively small amounts of citrus and grapefruit aroma chemicals. After some time you get more of an "apple pie" feel, where cloves (pimento) are not so prominent now, but cinnamon and vanilla-almond (coumarin-benzyl benzoate). What is left in the base is nice balsamic/woody skin scent. To summarize, this is a very very nice winter spicy/gourmand formulation! Even though I am a big fan of fresh fragrances I have to appreciate a very nice blend. Really good one - winter in a bottle. Cheers!

The BEST Spicebomb
I own Spicebomb Extreme as well as this one, and have smelt all the other spicebombs in store, and I think this is the best one.

While Spicebomb Extreme probably gets talked about the most, batches from recent years (like mine in 2023) seem to have greatly reduced performance compared to what it used to be. still a 6-8 hour fragrance, but not anywhere close to the 12 hour beast others describe.

In contrast, Spicebomb Infrared EDT is nearly a room filler, with great projection. while it is also probably only a 6-8 hour fragrance, that projection really is something to take note of. It hasn't experienced a drop in potency.

In addition, I find this more mass-appealing and easy to wear. The additional red-fruits in the opening make it sweeter and more playful, good for someone youthful, and better for daily situations. It is actually for these red fruits that I would also choose this over the EDP version, as the EDP chooses to bring in and really focus on leathers and chillis. that is probably the "spiciest" spicebomb, while the EDT is spicy but still sweet and playful and more mass appealing in my opinion. It has also replaced the heavy vanilla base of Extreme with cinnamon

if I had to describe the differences between Extreme and Infrared EDT, I would say;
•Infrared EDT is a daily-wear type of scent, good for fall weather, and cinnamon forward.
•Extreme is for special occasions, best suited for winter, with a focus on vanilla.
However, Infrared EDT works just as well as Extreme in cold weather, while Extreme does not work as well as EDT in hot weather.

Overall, if you can only get one Spicebomb, I think it should be this one. I would certainly get it. I think it smells the best and works in the most situations, and is one of my top 5 favourite fragrances.

First perfume I fell in love with. Perfection.
Spicebomb Infrared is what sparked my obsession with fragrances. I had never been interested in smelling alcohol, that was until I randomly decided to test this at a beauty store because the bottle looked cool, and I was bored..
WOW.
I sprayed this on a paper strip, and I could NOT stop smelling it, even when I took the bus home, still smelling it. Arrived home, still smelling it. The next day? The scent was very much still in the strip, still smelling it.
The spicy and fruity opening, the sweet and dark tobacco dry-down. It's just perfect to me.

It's one of the best things I've ever smelled. It's incredibly unique and "dark" which is what fits my attire best. Modern, masculine, spicy, and deep.
This has been and will always be one of my favorite perfumes. I'll forever praise and glaze this til I die.

The bottle is beautiful, it compliments the juice inside perfectly. This fragrance IS the color red.

And YES I'm saying all of this without even owning the perfume, but I'll never forget how I felt after finding it and smelling it all day. One day it'll be mine

The Inbetweener
Infrared is the quiet unassuming child of the spicebomb family.

Berries quickly give way to the cinnamon which lingers buffeted by the other spices. If nothing else they are the person with the clipboard saying "and action" than the main feature.

If this is your first introduction to the range then it's a solid entry point. However as someone with both the original and the extreme versions, it lacks the uniqueness that the others have.

Better than Night Vision but short of the thrust of the original or the assured warmth of the extreme.

In the opening, a very sweet, fruity, candy-like scent with a heavy dose of cinnamon. The red fruits last until the vanilla/bezoin drydown.

I was expecting a lot looking at the notes. Opens with sweet&bit sour red fruits and cinnamon. Then it sadly fades into generic sweet scent

Smells like Christmas day in a bottle! Otherwise it's like red spiced candy. Remember the Flaming Red Hot Gobstoppers? That's a good thing.

If you like cinnamon flavored gums, you can blind buy this. Harshness of OG remains, but opening is very fruity.

What the...? Cinnamon chewing gum in a bottle - very unbalanced, sharp, stingy and one dimensional. If you love cinnamon well yea ok...

Spicy, fruity and warm. Like the EDP better.

Sweet cinnamon and tobacco, with little hints of punchier spice and lavender. Christmas-y, but fresh enough to get away with in summer.

Excellent spicy-fruity opening that dries down to a synthetic spicy-sweet base, reminiscent of classic Spicebomb.

As named it is a spicebomb with sweet fruity notes. Gives me a young-generation perfume vibe.
