hm, where do I start.
Influenced by a very dear Parfuma, I became aware of the brand Zaharoff, more specifically the fragrance that we are going to discuss here.
Since I like gourmand scents, but most of them are not considered truly wearable for me (think of "17/17 - Symphonium | XerJoff", the walking soft cake), however, candidates like "Black Phantom Memento Mori | Kilian" or "Angels' Share | Kilian" are really beautiful fragrances and will soon find their way into my collection (at the latest by next winter), I remained very open to the topic. Since Zaharoff is only available for order in the USA, it would have been a blind buy, so I organized my first sharing with this fragrance (thanks again to the reliable participants, you are the best community!!!)
Said and done, fragrance ordered and I never expected it to arrive so quickly. Within 4 days after ordering, the bottle from the USA arrived at my place.
Unpacked, and there I held the box in my hands.
The box looks very high quality, is designed with great attention to detail, and you wouldn't think it costs "only" €150. The bottle also appears to be very well made and gives a stable and valuable impression. Cap removed and the first spray lands on my wrist:
Wow, how beautiful does this scent smell!?
The opening reminds me of "Black Phantom Memento Mori | Kilian" as for the first few minutes a mix of rum, brandy, and coffee is perceptible. However, after a short time, it smells a bit different, a cozy warmth and slight sweetness come into play: the honey is allowed to combine its aromas with the already present fragrance notes.
The scent then smells like this for about 15/20 minutes until a coconut note quietly and almost shyly joins in, but it is also well dosed and not so overpowering that it takes over the entire fragrance. It wraps around the rum, taking away some of its spiciness, and all the other heart note fragrance notes do the same: they skillfully underline the sweet opening without pushing themselves to the forefront.
Sometimes it smells of tonka bean, sometimes you get a bit more sweetness from the praline, overall the fragrance feels very harmonious, cuddly, and you simply feel good. It does not feel agitated throughout the fragrance development, rather calm, relaxing, and soothing, almost as if you were lying in a bathtub filled with pleasantly warm water and all the fragrance notes were rising from the gentle steam. The scent invites you to relax; it feels to me like aromatherapy. It does not want to stand out or provide a huge sillage, rather it aims to give the wearer a cozy feeling over a long period. When the fragrance reaches the dry down, it becomes a bit sweeter, a bit warmer, and also slightly woody. Almost as if you were resting on a warm wooden lounge chair after the preceding bath. A hint of vanilla, light accords of woods, and a bit of amber invite further relaxation.
For me, an absolute top hit! The fragrance feels very harmonious, very rounded, and no fragrance note disturbs the picture of relaxation. It wants to be a calm gourmand, not too sticky and also not so that you feel like a walking dessert!
The next time I go to a thermal spa or a wellness area, this fragrance will ensure that the relaxation lasts as long as possible, and even when everyday life becomes too much again,
Of the Immortals is a lovely escape to immerse oneself in a feel-good atmosphere through the fragrance composition.
Anyone who has the opportunity and likes gourmand fragrances will definitely be very well served here.
At the end of the review, I would like to thank a very dear Parfuma: Inesz
for influencing me to initiate the sharing at all; I am truly delighted with this beautiful olfactory addition to my collection.
