Confusing
Rancé is a French traditional brand that is now based in Milan, Italy. I personally own three fragrances from the Imperial Collection, plus Eau Sublime.
Just to be safe, I first got "Donna" as a mini - luckily!
Donna is, in my opinion, a typically Italian women's fragrance! A lot of fuss and bang in the opening, I am immediately overwhelmed by violets mixed with fruity notes. To be honest, I find the opening dreadful!
After about 20 minutes, it becomes finer but quite dusty. The heart is dominated mainly by white flowers, and the iris makes a rather loud appearance here. Powdery to the max! And it stays that way for many hours.
The vanilla makes an appearance very late, when the fragrance is almost barely perceptible, and then forms a reconciliatory soft base on the skin. I could like that, but it is too weak.
As I mentioned at the beginning, the fragrance is perfect for a classy, temperamental, loud Italian woman. Young, exciting, and absolutely self-aware!
For me, Donna is nothing, and so the mini will also be on its way... ;-))
