Don't be misled by the first impression
You can hardly avoid the Liquid Gold these days. For this reason, I decided to test this fragrance and went to my trusted perfumery.
At first, I found the scent on the blotter outstanding. Rather sweet, floral, with a hint of sour fruitiness. I was so overwhelmed by the uniqueness of this fragrance that I had to buy it.
So, I decided to purchase it and wanted to wear it the next day. However, the sharp, zesty top note kept making me sneeze. I could thus understand the parallel with the scent to One Million. That fragrance also always makes me wrinkle my nose. For a week, I didn’t dare to wear this scent extensively - which in hindsight was a mistake.
I decided to take the risk and sprayed a good 8 spritzes along my neck. The top note is still a bit of an acquired taste: slightly piercing, very sharp, and floral for me.
However, the development of this fragrance leaves me speechless. It evolves into a sweet scent that almost leans towards a gourmand note. In my opinion, this smell is comparable to cookie dough. Yet, it never loses its floral note. I’m not a fan of floral fragrances at all - this scent has taught me otherwise.
Additionally, the fragrance appears creamy, similar to a sunscreen (whose smell I actually also detest) with an orange note.
It seems that the fragrance has everything I dislike and yet turns out to be my new favorite in my collection.
I only understand the association with a hospital in the first few minutes of the scent. After that, it is as pleasing as very few fragrances I know.
The longevity also impresses me. I have to re-spray it in the evening if the night is going to be long. However, that’s the case for almost every fragrance for me.
The bottle is an absolute 10/10 for me. It visually integrates into any collection, in my opinion.
I have been wearing this scent almost continuously for 2 weeks in everyday life as well as in the evenings when going out. It is just so versatile and unique.
I have rarely smelled something so complex.
Test it! For many, it will be worth it.
