Is it expensive? Well, it smells like!

I like Oud perfumes where the quality of the ingredients is always recognisable. The price usually goes hand in hand with the quality. I've never had a number of these perfumes because I have to pay the high prices that are always asked. I've always liked Oud Satin Mood. Kurkdjian's style is very evident in it. I'm the proud owner of a 50 ml bottle and I try to save it as much as possible.
Naturally, I've tried many oud scents tentatively inspired by it, but I've never been entirely satisfied with the results... until now. Despite all recommendations against blind purchases, I ordered Zimaya Impulse Oud. And as the name suggests, I decided to buy it on impulse.
Right from the opening, I realise that it's a different kind of rose oud because of its remarkable softness. The rose and vanilla appear as an orange glow painted in pastel colours, just as an oriental rose should be. Is it the influence of violet? Well, it doesn't smell like candy-like sweet violets at all. The scent is radiant and never vulgarly gourmand. As the fragrance progresses, Impulse Oud becomes sweeter and perhaps more feminine. However, its beauty also manages to grow. The woody notes are never too prominent and appear hand in hand with the amber and benzoin chords.
The result is surprising. It is "probably" very close to its inspiration. I only write "probably" because I don't care now whether this Zimaya is similar or not to the Kurkdjian's fragrance. I like it for its attributes.

For me, it's a bit too feminine. Rose, after all.

But still awesome...
It works very well for me with a leather jacket, dark pants, slightly fancier shoes, and hair slicked back with [pomade]!!! :)

It doesn't really go with a T-shirt and jeans... you know what I mean.
When you wear the scent, you know, okay, tonight I'm stepping out of line because this thing is not mainstream.

It's my secret weapon when I want to feel like Zorro without a sword.

Powdery Rose, Freshness, Musk

This fragrance is truly special with extreme sillage and recognizability. Upon entering a room, you will definitely stand out with Impulse Oud. It is a blend of powdery rose, floral elegance, freshness, and a hint of musk. The longevity of this fragrance is extremely good - two to three sprays are enough to make the entire room smell of this perfume for several hours. On the skin, the perfume develops just like it does on clothing - there is really no significant difference in scent. An absolute favorite!

MFK Oud Satin Mood Alternative in Freshness

By now, there are countless Oud Satin Mood Eau de Parfum alternatives on the market, some do well, others not so much.
Impulse Oud is one of the better alternatives.
While it’s not a 1:1 dupe, you can clearly recognize the OSM DNA.
In percentages, it’s always a bit difficult to assess how close such an alternative is to the original.
I would still say that when you smell the fragrance on the skin, it’s probably about 75%, and in the air, Zimaya resembles the original about 85-90%.

But now to the most important part, the scent.
The opening is quite alcoholic; I almost had to cough.
After a minute, you perceive a synthetic violet-benzoin note, which doesn’t remind me much of OSM at first.
The opening is definitely fresher and more floral than the original; other alternatives do this much better, but they also cost easily double or triple.

Overall, the scent is clearly fresher than the OSM, which is also noticeable in the dry down.
So, if you’re looking for a fresher alternative, this is the right one.
I must say I’m not a big fan of the opening.
After a few minutes, you notice a rose that you know from OSM.
But here, it’s much fresher, more synthetic, and not as "sticky" as in the original.
The rose here is somewhat feminine, but fortunately, the fragrance doesn’t drift too much into the feminine territory; the very prominent benzoin note prevents this.

"Oud" is also listed here, but I personally don’t perceive it much; if at all, it hides very much in the background.

Amber, on the other hand, is more prominent and provides a pleasant, warming sweetness.
Still, towards the end, the fragrance never becomes as sweet as its predecessor.
Soapy rose, benzoin, sweet amber, and a spiciness that slightly reminds one of oud dominate the scent.

The performance is strong.
Longevity on my skin is 9-10 hours, and the projection is also very good.
Other alternatives do a better job here, but for 14-15 euros, it’s nitpicking at a high level.

Definitely unisex wearable and more suitable for the colder days.
It performs very well below 20 degrees.

There’s not much more to say here.
A solid scent for a small price.
If you don’t know the original, you should probably get a sample first, because Impulse Oud isn’t that safe.
For those who know OSM, I would probably recommend a 10 euro more expensive dupe from Lattafa.
Still, I would say Impulse Oud is worth its money, and Zimaya could easily charge three times that.
