I have zero idea what's considered niche, but since Hermes was mentioned earlier in this thread, I guess anything I have to offer is fair game at this point. So here goes:
Earth. It's green. It's floral. It's earthy in the most delicious and wet way. It might be a bit on a heavier side because of its florals, but if the point is to feel special and confident on a special night – it'd be perfect for me. It packs a statement.
In a similar statement-packing vein –
Solo Vulcan. But it's on a bitter herbal side and definitely not a crowd pleaser – if you're going to sit in an enclosed space on a humid summer evening, you can easily overdo it and give someone a headache. So I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for. I usually pick it when I spend my time outside in nature ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و ♡
Taking a sharp turn and going in a completely different direction –
Comme des Garçons 2. It's a very sleek and gentle scent that's unlikely to bother other people around you. Elegant, fun and playful journey for you; and a shimmering little secret you may or may not decide to share with someone else. Hard to describe in just a few words, but hey, so are you.
And if it's super special,
Piazza di Spagna. It's described as fruity on Parfumo, but I honestly don't feel that. But then again, I've owned my bottle for more than a decade, and even back then it came to me secondhand from a little local shop where some enthusiast was selling off his unused antiquities. It's fresh, it's peppery and uniquely herbal. It has a peculiar overall scent I haven't been able to put into words or find anywhere since. If there exists a scent that is truly me – that has to be it.
